The present study investigates influence of the int ellectual capital on the economic performance of ph armaceutical companies accepted in Tehran stock market for. In o rder to investigate the intellectual capital, the m ethod of Polk’s value added intellectual coefficient (VAIC) and als o the cash value added (CVA) are used. Using multif arious regression panel- based method, the study examines the influence of each element of the intellectual a dded capital coefficient on the economic performance of 26 activ e companies in pharmaceutical industries accepted i n Tehran stock market in years from 2008 to 2012. The result s of the study show that the value added intellectu al coefficient influence significantly on the economic performance of the pharmaceutical companies accepted in Tehran stock market is statically significant and among the inte llectual capitals, the used or physical capital ha s the greatest influence on the economic performance.
