Synthesis and Characterization of New S-substituted Sulfanypyridines, 3-Aminothieno[2,3-b] Pyridines and 3-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl) Thieno[2,3-b] Pyridines and Related Heterocycles
Abstract
Abstract Reaction of ethyl (3-cyano-5-ethoxycarbonyl-6-methyl-4-styryl-2-pyridylsulfanyl)acetate with hydrazine hydrate gave a mixture of the corresponding acetohydrazide and diethyl 3-amino-6-methyl-4-styrylthieno [2,3-b] pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylate. The latter compound was reacted with 2,5-dimethoxytetrahydrofuran to give 3-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)thieno [2,3-b] pyridine. Patially hydrazinolysis of resulted in the formation of 5-ethoxycarbonyl-6-methyl-3-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)-4-styrylthieno [2,3-b] pyridine-2-carbohydrazide. The acetohydrazide and carbohydrazide 10 were used as precursors for the title compounds by subjecting them to some sequental reactions with different reagents. All new compounds were characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses and spectroscopic data.
