Synthesis and anticonvulsant activity of 1-[(4, 5-dihydro-5-phenyl-3-(phenylamino)pyrazol-1-yl)]ethanone derivatives
Abstract
In present study a series of chalcones of anilide a nd their corresponding product 1-[(4,5-dihydro- 5-phenyl-3-(phenylamino)pyrazol-1-yl)]ethanone deri vatives I-VI were synthesized and evaluated for their anticonvulsant activity against electric shock induced convulsion method in rat at a dose of 125 mg/kg and 250 mg/kg intraperit onially. The structures of compounds were confirmed by IR, H 1 NMR and Mass spectroscopy. The compounds of this s eries (III) and (V) were found to be most potent, which have shown high er percent of anti convulsant activity. Phenytoin was taken as reference drug. Their pharma cophoric groups are similar and the possible structure of suitable fused heterocyclic could be a ccepted to give anti convulsant activity.
