Studies on Solute-Solvent Interactions of Amino acids in Water + D-glucose mixtures at Different Temperatures
Abstract
Density (d) values of the three amino acids, namely glycine, α-alanine and β-alanine have been measured at 298.15,303.15,308.15 and 313.15 K in aqueous D-glucose solutions ranging from 0 to 20 mass % of D-glucose. The ultrasonic velocity(U) in these solutions have been measured at 298.15 K only. Acoustical parameters such as isentropic compressibility (Ks),acoustic impedance(Z),solvation number (Sn), apparent molar volume (VΦ),limiting apparent molar volume(VΦ 0) and limiting apparent molar expansibility(EΦ 0) have been computed. The results are discussed in the light of molecular interactions in the mixtures.
