Screening for extracellular enzyme production in endophytic fungi isolation from Calophyllum inophyllum. L leaves
Abstract
Endophytes are micro organisms that grow intracellularly inside the tissues of the host without causing any symptoms. These endophytes play very important role in many fields such as medicinal, industrial, agriculture such as production of antibiotics, anticancer agents and other bioactive compounds. A study was carried out to isolate four endophytic fungi from Calophyllum inophyllum L. (Family: Clusiaceae) leaves and to study about the production of enzymes such as amylase, protease, lipase and cellulase. In this study, out of the isolated endophytic fungi CIEF-W found positive for amylase, cellulase and Lipase enzymes production.
