In this article, a comparatively less known molecule vitamin-U has been described. The chemical characteristics of this rare vitamin has been described. Clinical studies carried out using this molecule, biological significance including metabolic characteristics; cholesterol lowering properties, biosynthesis etc. have been described. General characteristics and complexing behaviour of this molecule is discussed in the article.
