This article analyzes the background and development trends of the global medical tourism. It summarizes Indian government’s efforts on medical tourism industry development and Medical tourist product development in India. On the base of that, it analyzes the main attractive forces of Indian medical tourism industry, which are high-quality medical and tourist services, lower price and shorter waiting time. It also points out that there are some risks in international medical tourism, medical tourist’s risk in right protection, medical tourist source country’s risk in medical costs rising, destination country’s risk in national interests damaged and ethical risk in medical science.
